If SSM were decided and fully legalized next year (2015)...

FrederickJones - I’m curious. You are not just saying that based on your particular religion, same-sex marriage is considered to be morally bad; you’re saying that it needs to be against U.S. law. Do you feel the same way about extra, pre- and post-marital sex as well? Should we have laws against having any sex outside of marriage? What do you think the punishment should be?

I don’t do it because of being a Christian (although, why can’t you resurrect something worthwhile, like the Adam West version of Batman?).

I do it because in reality, I’m Herbert West, REANIMATOR!!!

God says he’s good with it. He also says he likes Chicken in a Biskit and House Hunters International.

No. No, He doesn’t. He told me he only likes Project Runway. Schism! Jihad!

I’m sad for you, you demon-possessed soldier of darkness.

How is post-marital sex outside of marriage?

Color me ridiculously optimistic, but I think it would be a great big non-event. SSM is so common now, that most of the country is just over it. We’ve seen SSM “judicially imposed” on any number of states in the last few years, many of them quite conservative, and not much of anything has happened. Yeah, they’re appealing to the SCOTUS in some instances, but the marriages are happening and the world has not come to an end.

The speed at which this cultural change has swept through society is pretty darn breathtaking!

I think he meant after the marriage is over because of divorce or death of one of the parties and opposed to, I suppose, intra-marital sex.

I think that would just be pre-marital again because they’ve yet to marry their new partner.

As a Republican I would love the present form being killed off. Of course I supported SSM when the LBGT community cause of the day in my state was partner benefits. I like to imagine the hibernating classically liberal and foreign policy focused wings coming back to life. Spring, fresh growth, and poaching the vote of the social liberal but centrist Democrats back where they fit best.

Given the necromancer for this threat though… sigh.

There is might be a distinction between pre-marital when you are presumably supposed to be a virgin and then after the first marriage when virginity isn’t an issue.
