I’ve stated this in another thread: The final exit polls are almost identical to the results. For instance, the CNN polls show Bush winning Ohio with about 51% of the vote, and Florida with about 52% of the vote.
Moreover, the areas where Bush made gains in Florida (the central corridor) is where any logical swing would occur.
In short, there’s no evidence of any sort showing electoral fraud.
“Meme” has been in common use, as in daily conversations, by sociologists and historians for years. I personally hadn’t noticed any huge upsurge among the general population, but then again tracking vocabulary has never been a special fixation of mine.
So the fact that there is no evidence proves it really happened.
Now it all makes sense!
I think we are seeing a meme under construction. The fact that there is no evidence of any widespread fraud is simply proof that the conspiracy really existed and was successful. I think we are working our way toward inserting “everybody knows they stole the election from Kerry” into the popular wisdom. Same with the Kennedy assasination, except instead of Oliver Stone, it will be Michael Moore making a movie about it. Paranoia is a growth industry, it seems.
And BobLibDem - I don’t know whether to admire you for putting your credibility on the line, or point out that you were equally sure that Kerry was going to win a landslide. So I guess I will do both.
