Seriously, what career does Gibson have? When he made *Signs *in 2002 he was still one of the biggest stars in the world… and then he couldn’t get an acting gig for 8 years. He directed a low budget movie that made over $300 million in 2004… and the one film he directed since then, he had to finance himself. If “Premiere” still existed and was still publishing their Power List, would he be in the top 50? The top 100?
I’d say his career is proof positive that while Jews may not control Hollywood, whoever it is who actually *does *control Hollywood doesn’t like Mel Gibson.
Or didn’t seek one. Either way I guess the poor bastard couldn’t do much except count the tens of millions (or more) he made on Passion- which made $600 million, not $300 million.
In Hollywood terms, an actor who isn’t working is dead.
Encore is featuring Mel Gibson this month or next. (I wasn’t quite paying attention, so I’m not sure.)
Put it this way: it was a huge hit to his acting career. I didn’t realize that he had not starred in a movie in almost a decade and studios probably would have balked at the idea of trying to sell a movie based on him. Is his career dead? Since he’s trying to act again, we’ll see if people want to go to his movies. Since Edge of Darkness is coming out in January I’m guessing the studio didn’t have a ton of confidence in it.

In the Golden Age of Hollywood, practically ALL of the major studios were headed by Jews (Darryl Zanuck and Walt Disney were about the only studio heads who WEREN’T Jewish). It’s fair and accurate to say that, in those days, Jews ran Hollywood. And yet, the Catholic Church got EXTREMELY favorable treatment in movies in those days. A contradiction? Not at all. The business was run by Jews, but it doesn’t follow that Harry Cohn, Louis B. Mayer and Jack Warner had a shared agenda to promote Jewish interests. They wanted to make money, and figured their best best was to make movies that appealed to mainstream, Christian America.
Today? If anything, Hollywood is even MORE Jewish than it used to be. Practically ALL the major studios have Jewish bosses. But just as in the Golden Age, Jewish studio heads are practical people, and will work with people they dislike and disrespect if they think he helps their bottom line.

Surprisingly, nothing odd in the first page of links, and in the image section, actually two stills from the move of Mel running with a beaver on his arm. Who woulda thunk that.
To be honest, I was willing to cut him a little slack on the antisemitic rant he made after being stopped for drunk driving, on the assumption that one deserves some slack for drunken behavior, but he also presented himself as a staunch Catholic family man (father of seven) for whom the Pope was not Catholic enough. But then he cheated on his wife, who divorced him and he is now shacked up with his girlfriend.
In a town (Hollywood) where rank hypocrisy is par for the course, Mel Gibson is about the most hypocritical piece of shit around.

Of course people who are Jewish are extremely powerful in Hollywood. (At least one book’s been written on how they created the place: An Empire Of Their Own: How the Jews Invented Hollywood.) Whether that means “the Jews” control Hollywood - in the sense that they conspire together to promote their interests or whatever people think - no, I don’t think so.
As for Mel Gibson, I’d be surprised if there weren’t some Jews involved in his production on some level, but I guess everyone makes up their own minds and lives to their own standards. I’d bet there are some gay people working on his sets, too, even though (IIRC) he’s made homophobic comments in the past as well.
Both of these are correct. There are a huge number of Jews in very powerful positions in Hollywood, to the point that it’s not totally inaccurate to say “Jews control Hollywood”. But it’s misleading, since obviously they are acting as individuals and in the interests of their specific companies. There isn’t a vast cadre in the vein of the Elders of Zion dictating who is in or out.
