What’s to stop Trump from simply shipping Musk off to El Salvador? Outside US jurisdiction.
I heard a clip of him reading a prepared statement about his upcoming parade. (complete with tanks and a flyover). Once again, it sounded like a hostage tape. At least we know he can read, but he’s really bad at reading out loud. Maybe he was over medicated.
I assume you’re referring to my comment, part of my post which you didn’t quote, that the feud has been strangely one-sided so far, with trump being relatively and uncharacteristically restrained.
I think it might be, as you say, partially trump’s advisors keeping him in check- for now. They did just make a big show of giving Musk a grand goodbye, with a gold key to the White House (which was personally designed by trump, I heard) and everything! I bet there was even cake.
I also think trump may be somewhat taken aback by the ferocity of Musk’s sudden turnabout attacks and hasn’t had time to quite process it through his addled brain.
But, as I also said in my last post here, I’m guessing trump’s anger and bile is steadily bubbling to the surface, and right around 3am, his usual shitposting time, when his advisors are sound asleep, all is quiet and he’s alone with his narcissistic rage, he will explode with fury, and his little ketchup-stained greasy fingers will fly across the little virtual phone keyboard or whatever device of choice he vents his spleen upon while sitting on the toilet in the wee hours. I’m anticipating some half a dozen or more unhinged trump posts attacking Leon very soon.
It’s one of those contests where you’re rooting for injuries.
Elmo hasn’t used anything that actually harms Trump. Epstein is already known, and besides, it enhances Trump’s reputation with his base–the allegations are about teens, not toddlers, and MAGA is all-in on patriarchal stuff like middle-aged men making use of teenage girls.
Elon did say that Trump’s 2024 win wasn’t solely due to Trump’s godhood:

But notice that Elon has avoided all the things that we know enrage Donald:
- no insinuations about Donald’s wealth being unimpressive
- no insinuations about ANY of Donald’s body parts
- no insults about women finding Donald to be smelly or otherwise unattractive
- no mention at all of Chickening Out.
Elon isn’t saying anything Donald would find unforgiveable.
Note, also, that as of end of business today, all the little DOGE kids----100% loyal to Elon, 0% loyal to Donald----are still ensconced in their federal-government niches. Doing for Elon whatever Elon says.
I’m less and less convinced that this is real. That doesn’t mean that I think Elon and Donald made elaborate plans; I don’t. It doesn’t mean that I think they actually like each other: they’re narcissists and neither has any actual friends, and never will.
But I can’t see a single reason why Trump would leave Musk’s DOGE boys in place, if Trump really considers Musk to be an enemy.
The DOGE kids are there for a reason.
Meanwhile Trump hasn’t pointed out that Musk is on ketamine and other drugs all the time. Though doing so would raise the question of how Musk was approved for his government role.
And to be honest, while the public spat is entertaining, it’s also very damaging to the integrity of the government. It’s just not very presidential.
That ship has sailed.
Remember when wearing a tan suit or propping one’s shoes on the desk in the Oval Office was the very height of unpresidential behavior?
They both are working on the “enemy of my enemy is my friend” mode, and their mutual enemy is the administrative state that can prevent them from ruling the world as they please. So they continue to cooperate to destroy it and sell it for parts.
In the meantime, they get angry and have shouting matches at each other like blowhards at the worksite like “I hate what you’re doing with this Bill” “Well that is MY business” “You brought me here to cut costs, dumbass” “But I AM THE BOSS you little shmuck” “Oh like when you were at Jeffrey’s place?” “You’re a real loser, why do I buy rockets from you?” “Maybe I’ll just stop letting you” “Listen, you dopehead…” but it never comes to blows, and eventually they resume work because otherwise no one gets paid, and they never mention it again until the next quarrel.
There’s a good chance he’s just forgotten about them, and no one is reminding him of them, because they have a use for the DOGE Kids. The P2025 guys would love to make use of people already imbedded in the government, who are already committed to doing as much damage as possible. And I’m sure they wouldn’t be above a backroom deal with Musk that Trump knows nothing about.
Just think how useful that massive data base on US citizens could be, that Musk and his crew have amassed! Lends itself to all kinds of P2025 fuckery. And then there’s the back doors to multiple agencies’ computer systems that have no doubt been installed.
Although now that Musk is out of the government, will he still have access to that information?
I’d be shocked if it hadn’t been copied to a set of Musk’s own servers.
