I’ve read comments to this effect and don’t quite get what it is people are supposed to do. Are people supposed to shrug their shoulders when he blatantly accuses a former president of committing an illegal act – done ostensibly to divert attention from the fact that his business dealings and campaign connections compromise his ability to deal with foreign adversaries and national security threats? I won’t even touch the now-obvious attempted meddling in a criminal probe. I don’t think that’s hyperventilating; I think it’s expressing measured alarm. I would agree that Democrats and Trump’s critics will utterly fail if they do nothing more than react to Trump’s tweets and fail to develop alternative policies and a message to that effect. But expressing alarm is not unreasonable – it’s quite reasonable and necessary.

Somebody the other day had a good piece on anti-anti-Trumpers. Basically, conservatives who realize they can’t defend Trump, but in the absence of anything for them to be for anymore, have joined with pro-Trumpers in the conservative safe space of liberal-bashing, because it’s the only thing they’ve got left. No meaningful policy agenda (other than to take health care away from people who need it but can’t afford it), a tantrum-throwing 70 year old child as leader of their party…yep, liberal-bashing is all they’ve got.
Oh nice, the Libertarian cunts think they are somehow immune from being pieces of shit. The two most disliked candidates square off, the Libertarians nominate the most mainstream ticket imaginable and get considerably more media attention than they ever did before… And still can’t get the votes needed for matching funding.
