If you blow on your dog's face, does he try to swallow your head?

Interesting - all three of mine try to lick the air if you blow on their faces.

The words look very similar out of the corner of my eye!

Thanks for all of the responses. It really seems like no two dogs are alike, but all humans try to turn things dirty at any opportunity (how about that for generalizations?). Maybe I’ll try to post a picture tonight.

Ours don’t like it and try to headbutt us when we try it, albeitly not with violent intent.

The beagles go ape shit if I blow on them. In fact, all my dogs have had some kind of issue with being blown on and have had similar reactions: mildly frenzied licking and leaping. I wonder what the deal is.

Blowing in Daisy’s face: A play in three scenes.

Setting: Living room of suburban colonial house.

Scene I
Husband: “Daisy come here! Come in here!”
Me: “Where is she? Oh, upstairs. Daisy- stop what you’re enjoying so daddy can blow in your face!”

Daisy comes trotting down the stairs to Husband.

Scene II
Husband: “Daisy come here” (pats couch)

Daisy: Sits on the floor at an arms distance from Husband.
Husband: Leans in close and blows on Daisy’s face.
Daisy: Turns head left and right. Gets up without comment and trots away exactly back to where she had been.

Scene III
Daisy: Mutters to self “Stupid drunk man just spit in my face”

The End.

I tried this once with my dog. She got pissed off, growled at me, and then tried to bite my mouth.

Three Salukis. No, but their ears pop up. I say it’s because their heads are all hollow inside – kind of like blowing in one of those party snakes.

One either ignores me or walks away. The other one either tries to lick my lips or becomes playful and jumps on me. She sniffs/smells the air I’m blowing first so I guess she licks my lips if she decides she likes the smell of what I just ate.
