Can anyone provide the source for a quote that goes something like “If you only buy one newspaper, buy that of the opposition”? I thought I heard it cited in the name of Disraeli, but haven’t had any luck finding it online.
Thanks,

Thanks,
Google says Jefferson, Mark Twain, unknown, and a “a wise old sage”.
I call shenanigans.

I like a bit of wisdom I heard long ago from a USSR citizen that says you can buy two newspapers in a semi-totalitarian environment and glean the truth from the two of them if you are smart enough.
But there’s no truth in the news, nor any news in the truth.
