…does the dealership really put that big bow on the roof? And if they do, does it cost extra? Has anyone ever bought someone a car as a holliday gift? If so, would you do it again? Would it have to be someone you know and love, or would you consider a complete stranger?
Sweetie,
You can buy me a car anytime, doesn’t have to be just the Holidays.
Together, we’ll find out if that bow comes from the dealeship or not!!
Anybody see the SNL skit that exactly parodied one of those commercials, except when the husband saw the car that his wife had bought him, he said “It doesn’t have one of those huge bows on top. So I hate it” and it ended up being a commercial for those big bows?
To the best of my knowledge, they do not.
They can be pretty pricey as they take a lot of ribbon to make (and wide ribbon at that)
My mom worked at a floral store and used to make some for people buying cars, and IIRC they would cost 50 and up.
kinda pricey for a bow.
maybe buy a hot wheel of the same make and stick a bow on it?
I bought my Mom a car for Christmas one year. The dealer put a bunch of helium baloons in the trunk, but I had to provide the bow and giant gift tag.
My family once owned a Cadillac dealership, we had numerous Christmas deliveries. We found that the big bow was a nice touch, and that someone giving a Cadillac as a Christmas present usually didn’t mind a few extra bucks on the sales invoice to cover it.
aenea, you’ll be the first one I call when I will the lottery tomorrow.
