Funny, though, how you dismiss such esteemed medical sites as the Centers for Disease Control but completely accept the BBC.
I am under the impression, first of all, that this forum is The Pit.
Since genuinely lighthearted parodies can go in MPSIMS, it’s a reasonable assumption that parodies placed in this forum are flames in the form of humor.
In this forum, people can flame back if they disagree with your flame. Or even if they agree with it, but don’t think you’ve done a good job of making your point. (It’s happened to me more than once.)
Since your parodies are frequently unintelligible to many, and they’re in this forum, you should expect some flames.
If you want to have a semi-private party for that handful of people who appreciate your humor, without any critics ‘spoiling your fun,’ then the Pit is quite the wrong place for it.
I would recommend livejournal.com, where you can restrict access to your writings to a ‘buddy list’ of your choosing.

I think that one was rhetorical because you went on to answer it.
I think a dissenting view should be posted, but a dissenting view is not the same as a flame. But my error was, as RT pointed out, posting parodies in the Pit that I intend to be fun and flame free.
Actually, the point was that I wondered whether, had I left out that single sentence, you would have responded with “Oh get yourself” type stuff. And so I explained that I wasn’t talking about myself.

Well, a thread titled “Lib get over yourself”, then. My point, again, was that posting merely for the purpose of spoiling other people’s fun is not nice. But, again, as RT said, I guess I should expect that in the Pit.

You seem to have taken “get over yourself” a little more strongly than intended. It was that you seem to think I posted because I don’t like you. I posted because I didn’t understand your parody, and that I felt parody was a weak arguement. A fun tool, but it is not a debating action, and an especially weak vehicle for your abilities.
I think that Libertarian at least deserves the title of Supreme Egomaniac for his extensive and detailed bibliography of self-love.

Did you check all the links? They aren’t all UK based. The BBC also happens to be one of the most respected media outlets in the world. Does only American information satisfy you?
