I had never, ever heard this word used this way before. Is this use archaic or are my vocabulary skills incomplete?
From the Random House Dictionary
A matter of belief -Can atheists prove that God doesn’t exist?

Seems to me I’ve read the word “kidney” used like this. somewhere long ago but I’m not of a book reading kidney these days.
Huh? Oh.
I hadn’t heard of the 5th definition either.
You know, they did that song “Aquarius”
Well, a quick glance in the OED online shows that the latest usage of kidney to mean “temperance, nature, constitution, disposition” was in 1880 in a book by Benjamin Disraeli. So they don’t rate it as ‘obsolete’, but it certainly sounds like it’s heading that way.
“Atheist Kidney” sounds like a great name for a band.
My kidneys may be atheist, but the rest of me is Jewish. <rimshot>

NoClueBoy. You beat me to it! The 5th definition is one of my favorite bands.
Can’t beat the Manhatarn Thrasnfer though.
