I thought oatmeal was porridge.

Same. Who the hell is Savannah Guthrie? For that matter, who the hell is Austin Butler?

As soon as I saw the little pictures, I thought I was going to hate it. And to be honest, I kinda did.

I absolutely did not get today’s (Friday’s) puzzle. For the first time in ages, I didn’t get a single category. A lot of the pictures I didn’t recognize at all. PORRIDGE I thought was oatmeal or stew, MOUSE I thought was rat, SLIPPER I thought was shoe, SPINACH I thought was can, and PELLETS I didn’t understand at all. Also, I’ve never played Ms. Pac-Man in my life.

I’m just not a very visual person. I always have lots of trouble with those picture puzzles.

I found it very hard.

After I got past the novelty of pictures rather than words, today was pretty easy. A nice change of pace

Cute. Not sure I like it when they mix it up with pictures, but I suppose a change of pace every once in awhile doesn’t hurt.

Didn’t even bother with today’s.

I’m okay with my Saturday result. Almost a reverse rainbow.

Had fun with today’s puzzle, but it was over too quickly.
The instant I saw the glass slipper I knew it had to be Cinderella-related, and the mouse, pumpkin, and wand fell right into place. Then, when the reveal showed nothing but the character’s name, the gimmick became obvious. The whole thing took all of about thirty seconds.

Have they ever done that before?

I got purple first, then had to think a bit more for the others.

Do you mean do something creatively unusual instead of the norm? Yes, they’ve done images and emojis, amongst other gimmicks.

I was just playing the new Waffle. When you solve the puzzle, they give you a definition of each word and an example of its use in a sentence.

Today’s included this (spoilered for those who want to solve it without a clue):

drone /drəʊn/ noun. a male ant, bee or wasp, which does not work but can fertilize the queen bee.

“I’m trying to learn how to fly a drone, but it’s way over my head.”

I thought it was funny that they gave one definition of the word and then used a different definition of the word in the sentence.

Yep, no problems here, once I realised what differentiated blue from purple..

Played Elvis in Elvis and Feyd Rautha in 2nd Dune movie. Guy was nominated for an academy award for the first one (also won a BAFTA and a Golden Globe for it). He’s not a nobody.

They made a second Dune movie?

And an Elvis movie?

Huh.

Today’s got me. I got hit by the red herring of Pac-Man Ghosts Then made a general mistake and then kept mixing up the sets of duos.

Heck, both Butler and Guthrie tied me up on that one. My Guthrie knowledge stops at Arlo and Woody.

My second loss in a row. I was just on the wrong wavelength for this one. I could only think of potato chips or computer chips, I don’t know what rodent PINKY is referring to. For HARDY I could only think of the hardy Boys.

At least I got yellow and green this time.

Pinky and the Brain, a pair of genetically-engineered supermice who had regular bits in the cartoon Animaniacs. Brain was always trying to take over the world, because that’s what supergeniuses do, but Pinky always managed to stupidly foil his plans.

Just made it. I got tied up with that red herring and got thrown off my game for a sec and mixing up some of the answers. Managed to recover in time.

I had no chance on the last one except as remainders. Never heard of three of them and never would have thought of the fourth in a million years.
