Tuesday I got green and yellow without too much difficulty, but blue, I only got because I noticed they were all last names, nothing more specific, and purple was leftovers.
I really don’t like purple clues that only use part of the word.

Finally one that was totally in my wheelhouse.
I actually know what a skink is but there was nothing else that related so I was sure it had to either gain or lose one or more letters. Poe was also easy for me.

Solved today’s puzzle relatively quickly. Green, Yellow, Blue, Purple. I stared at the last four for a while before I figured it out.
Just as a general note: the connections that involve adding/losing letters or syllables are mostly okay for me, but I seem utterly blind to ones that depend on the sounds of the words. It’s like I don’t automatically hear words when I read them, or at least, don’t index them that way.
Thursday. And sometimes Purple makes me roll my eyes.

Good lord this one vexed me. When I finally saw purple I hit myself for not seeing it immediately. A standard trick and obvious words to check and I missed it. At least finished it cleanly.

Still Thursday. I have started to enjoy the extra challenge of going for reverse rainbow. I might be fooling myself and thinking I’m getting better at differentiating green and yellow. A little anxiety inducing when purple is leftovers, like here for me, and you go for it anyway.

I found this one rather challenging.
We had PARTS OF A TOOTH, but also the possibility of TOOTH _____. I had some trouble untangling those for a while, when suddenly the purple answer came to me.
After that, I decided to try for a reverse rainbow, but guessed wrong.
Spoiler for today’s Wordle: I lost my Wordle streak this morning by guessing GRAZE at six, and then it shows up as a Connections category, as if to mock me! Curse you, NYT!
I got Thursday flawlessly. Purple was last, but once I saw what the four words were, I figured out the connection before I clicked them.

Not so easy for me.
I tend to think of a lavaliere as a pendant on a chain. I also ended up googling “Is a greyhound a drink?”. I did eventually figure them all out.
Lavalier is also the term for a clip-on microphone.
Failed yesterday’s and had a close call today. I have to learn and not do them when I am tired and save them until morning.

Failed Friday’s. I did not know greyhound was a type of cocktail , I kept guessing other things until I ran out of guesses, and I probably would never have figured out purple even if it was the only set left.
Yeah I have never heard of Bolt as a synonym for eating.
