Wasted time with the red herring but got stuck. Figured out purple (not leftovers for a change) and the rest fell into place. Badly misjudged yellow.

I fell for the same red herring @Folly did. I took a flyer on BOAT as a neckline; it sounded like something I may have heard of once or twice, but I wouldn’t know one if I saw it. Figured out purple, but only after they were the only four left.

I tried to put ALT into yellow instead of COVER. A few more seconds of thought would have avoided that. Oh well.

I was quite pleased with myself figuring out that purple was all suffixes referring to political or geographical areas (emirATE, kingDOM, neighborHOOD, townSHIP). Then it revealed simply as “suffixes,” which was quite lame.

I had problems with this one. First, I couldn’t get “FILL IN the blank” out of my head, and I couldn’t think of any other uses for that entry. Second, I forgot that MENU and WINDOWS were actual keys.

Weird one. At first I had nothing then figured out purple and blue but could not figure out the last two. Went off on a tangent

Yeah, purple was definitely easiest (there were a couple of words that just made you go “whuh?”, which had to be wordplay), with blue the next. Green and yellow were too thematically similar.
