If You Like "Wordle", Try "Connections"

Okay. Sorry but I do subscribe and forget that not everyone does.

I have to take issue with the purple category for 11/24/2024. Red “licorice” is no more licorice than spaghetti squash is spaghetti.

And I take issue with today’s because really? That’s the category?

I believe that’s actually 11/23.

Not sure what you’re then supposed to call the stuff that’s labelled and marketed as red licorice.

“Sweetened plastic”

I would not have recognized today’s purple category; ASSOCIATED PRINCIPLES IN CHINESE PHILOSOPHY.

You’re not SUPPOSED label and market it as “red licorice” in the first place. I might even like to eat the stuff, if it didn’t have a fraudulent cognomen, but until that day arrives, it’s not my problem.

Actually, when my MegaMillions ticket hits this week, I think I’ll open a candy factory that makes actual licorice-flavored candy that’s colored red.* I’ll patent, tradename, and trademark it as RED LICORICE and vigorously defend the name (the way that Bayer didn’t with “Aspirin”).

*(unless there’s a reason that’s technologically infeasible)

I got blue and yellow right away. Green took a bit. Purple was tough even though I knew that Yang is the masculine part of Yin Yang

I didn’t. But somebody did, and everybody calls it red licorice, even if there really isn’t such a thing. Including whoever creates the Connections puzzle.

Please drop the damned hijack about red licorice.

Sunday’s puzzle I got within two minutes, in the order purple, green, yellow, blue, no errors.

Today’s was a bit tricker for me, and took all my guesses to get. Took three before I got my first one, the blue category.

Yep, that’s the one I got first as well, after one miss. Followed by Yellow and Green. I would never in a million zillion years have gotten the Purple category.

I saw three of the four, but couldn’t figure out the fourth. expansive

ELOISE is featured in ELOISE. Good to know.

Never heard of it.

Easy game today except I had no clue about the purple category or what it is.

Seconded.

Me neither

I never read the source material but heard of it. That was enough for a good guess.

Yeah I was vaguely aware of it but it was still the last one I got.
