Just went way too fast. Missed one on blue because I’m too old to remember everything and got one wrong on green because I saw three of the yellow but didn’t realize the fourth until I entered it for green. Also didn’t get purple.

On Tuesday, three of the blues jumped right out at me, but I didn’t know the fourth. I did eventually guess correctly, though.

Despite not burning any mistakes, I found this one very difficult.
After green and yellow, I was faced with two words (25%!) which I had absolutely zero clue what they even meant (SUPERFUDGE and DEENIE). So I broke down and googled the former, then made a semi-educated guess on what the other three were, and was very surprised I got it right. Then, just for the cherry on top, I gave up before figuring out purple.
Connections was not very much fun today.

I had the right connection for both people and blue. But I’ve never heard of the movie “training day” and thought that “interval day” might be a gym thing, like “leg day” or “cardio day”. Also, i don’t know music theory, although the really unfamiliar one to me was “mode”, any i probably should have stuck to thinking “interval” went with the music theory ones.
“Word play”. Anything that’s “add a word” is likely to be purple. Somewhat obscure connections of meaning are commonly blue. I was actually sure if the order, but didn’t care enough to do it that way.
I understand the concept of word play = purple. I just didn’t think a straightforward movie name clue qualified as word play. But I guess it was close enough.

#1074 Too lazy and embarrassed to paste my grid. Fell for 2 red herrings, one of which I probably generated from whole cloth, and then failed. Surprised it shook out to 2/5 difficulty.
I’ve finished the connections (see above) but my app isn’t registering it as done. Anyone else have this happen, and how did you solve it? It also happens on the midi crossword too.
Thursday. Really challenged me today. Yellow, in particular, was not my wheelhouse.
