I hate these Connection puzzles where six or seven clues fit into the correct theme, even if I got it by elimination.
chess, shoofly, moon, peach, pecan, pumpkin and honey all fit the pie theme…
Green and yellow were rough ones.

I had five options for yellow and had to make the other guesses first.

One miss-step.
I did fine on this 5/5 puzzle as opposed to that last 2/5 puzzle. But mixed up blue and green.

Another puzzle where blue seemed much more like yellow. Purple was leftovers.
I outright cheated today and looked up hints. I would never have gotten blue without that.

I saw that there were extra options for yellow, but thought some would be easier to connect in other ways, and decided to take a stab at it. (I think there’s are only 5 good yellow options. Peach, pumpkin, pecan, chess, and shoefly. And shoefly was unlikely to be anything else, giving me confidence it was a real connection.)

I actually thought today’s was pretty easy. I saw the multitude of PIES immediately, so I knew I had to look in another direction, and the other categories revealed themselves soon enough.
Or maybe I just got green first because deep inside I’m still a 12-year-old boy.
I have no idea what a shoofly pie or a chess pie are. Sometimes it seems like America is obsessed with pies.
Anyway. It’s a very cold Friday where I am, and I did okay, but Purple made me roll my eyes.

Yeah, I think this is the first time I’ve seen that many. I tried a couple of one-aways before giving up (I thought it might be something more specific, like pies without a top crust), and ended up with a RR for the rest.
@GuanoLad , a shoefly pie is like pecan pie, except without the pecans. Basically molasses mixed with some sort of binder, poured into a pie crust..

This looked like it was going to be harder than it was. I did have to eliminate some categories to get all the answers.

Yeah, PURPLE was dumb. I mean, I saw it, but I didn’t like it.
Took a stab at yellow green order.
