Pretty much failed today. Got yellow and green then got stuck. Finally decided to waste a guess on what looked like they might go together which turned out to be blue which I never would have gotten. Had no idea on the remaining purple.
Like yesterday I couldn’t figure out the category for Purple, but otherwise got everything right in rainbow order: Y-G-B-P.
B-G-Y-P today, and I didn’t spot the category for Purple either (although I did yesterday)
I had convinced myself that the wrestling reference was an Easter Egg and not an answer so I didn’t pick it right away but I was able to solve today’s. I only saw the purple when it was the last clue.
Ditto to all points here. Plus I started out by falling for the actual red herring, but I knew it was probably a tease. But it’s happened before where the obvious was the correct, so worth a shot if you’re not worried about going perfect.
G-Y-B-P today. I’m not a wrestling fan, so it wasn’t obvious to me. Not sure if I would have ever solved Purple.
I didn’t figure out the purple category, but when I revealed it, I found it an “oh, duh” moment. Only one answer kinda pushed it a little for me, but was fair.

Knew wrestlers The ROCK and THE UNDERTAKER. Never heard of the others but they seemed to be wrestlery type names?
Didn’t want to reveal purple so started guessing poetic____ and all I could come up with was justice which didn’t fit. Switched to ____ poetic and WAX came immediately.
I thought of POETIC license, but that didn’t lead me anywhere.
Got them in order today, which doesn’t happen often. After an initial misstep on the sewing items (TAPE instead of BUTTON—Duh!), it all just kind of fell into place.
Sometimes eliminating the previous category is a big help in getting the next one, and this was one of those days.

Went yellow, blue, purple, green. Happy I saw purple because I thought green was kind of iffy.
I always struggle with food ones, so couldn’t figure out Blue’s category, but the rest I got quite quickly (though I did attempt the red herring).
Tough one today. I narrowly avoided a couple of red herrings but only because I stopped to consider the remainder before confirming. It was particularly helpful to figure out what LUXE was.
The Times explicitly shows both “Perfect Games” and “Purple Firsts.” I don’t know offhand what they’re tracking in the background, since when they started showing your Connections streak it looked some distance back into the past rather than starting out as day 1. I remember at one point there was speculation online that it also got harder during the week but I’m pretty sure that’s just selection bias.
(I also don’t know if, in the professional connections-playing community, one is privileged over the other. Like do ProCons want to guess at a safe 
rather than gambling on a risky 
? All I know is I play it with my spouse and purple is, if any, invariably the category where one of us turns to the other, groans, and goes “oh for god’s sake”)

Totally whiffed today’s puzzle (Saturday, 6/21).
Which day’s Connections, Wordle and Strands games you see is dependent on your computer’s time zone. So if it’s 8pm Eastern time where you are, but your computer is set to London time (1am tomorrow), the site will show you those puzzles for tomorrow. I regularly change my computer’s time zone to do these puzzles a day early.
Indeed. I just did the 22nd June puzzle, as that’s what day it is where I live, and I did not do well at all! Kept guessing at something that turned out to be not even the correct category so had no chance. I failed on both Blue and Purple.
