Darn. Guessed the relative difficulty of the last two incorrectly and missed the reverse. Purple was easiest for me EEL gave up the gimmick. Blue I had no idea on, but got it through eliminating the other eight. I’ve done that activity a few times, but never got that far.

Saturday’s game. Not sure if there was a red herring in this one, I didn’t look closely enough and just started. My only error was it having more than four possibles.

I stared for the longest time (whoah-oh-oh-oh) without seeing anything. Started free-associating and eventually said “electric guitar,” and boom, that category fell into place. I wasn’t even trying for purple first!

Then yellow and green both jumped out at me, making me mad at myself for not getting them sooner.

But I’d still be sitting here trying to figure out what the blue words have in common if I hadn’t given up and just clicked ‘em.

Purple jumped out at me right after I hit enter on blue. I was trying hard to get it first and sussed out one almost certainly purple word, but I needed to clear the board a bit to see the rest of them.

Blue was so easy to spot I was shocked it wasn’t the yellow category. Yes, there was also SPIKE, but that’s not a fastener like the others, maybe on a railroad Iguess.

As I know them, it’s a tiny finishing nail with a thick but narrow head, usually made out of wire. Like this. I know/use them because they’re frequently used in picture framing. The word is also used for other nails that look different, and also these things.

Did today’s late, and after several beers, and still did well.

SPIKE was already gone, but I thought TAP might have fit into blue as well. Guess I was lucky it didn’t.
When I was down to just purple, I immediately recognized the Turtles!
Fun one.

Didn’t see a good candidate for purple off the bat so went for the first one I saw. That litttle muck-up there was the right idea but not quite right concept. I thought it couldn’t be right, but went for DRAG, PUFF, PASS, and BUZZ for, like, I dunno, words related to smoking cannabis. Haha.
