I missed the red herring, as I am wont to do, apparently. What was it?
The red herring was delt, trap, quad, hammy as colloquial names for specific muscles. Was the first thing I saw, but I didn’t submit as I always look for a second category before submitting the first to avoid getting caught.
Ah, yeah, it’s unlikely I would have seen that. I am aware of those terms, but well, not really in the singular, and HAMMY throws the symmetry off. Plus I’ve never heard HAMMY like that, though I could see it.

Definitely thought purple was valid for a purple. Never got blue even when they were the only four left.
I don’t know why Yellow didn’t leap out at me sooner, I think I was distracted by the red herring.

It’s the set of muscles at the back of the thigh, just below the buttocks - hence, “Moon Over My Hammy”.

I understand the term from context with the other words. I have just never heard it cutely referred to as that.

Little late with today’s puzzle. I don’t know if it was meant as a red herring, but I thought SNOOP, PAC, and BIGGIE was going for halves of rapper names. I couldn’t quite find a third, but guessed SWEAT, maybe Keith Sweat could fit in there, but he wasn’t really a rapper. I was testing to see if I was a “one away” at least, but I wasn’t so figured I was on the wrong track with that one.
This was the fourth from the red herring.
Oh, duh. I know them very well. I had already eliminated it by getting purple first, so it wasn’t on my radar of possibilities. If I had noticed that, that would’ve flagged it as a red herring category.
I didn’t get #767. Missed both blue and purple. For some reason I was fixated on PAC-MAN and WU-TANG CLAN and those didn’t lead anywhere. Also I never heard of a Super PAC or a fish called a tang.
That one is US-centric (I think, though not 100% sure). If you are in the US, then you probably don’t hang around the Elections forum here.
I am American. I’ve heard of a PAC but not a Super PAC.

Had to work for blue, I know only two of those poses.
You must have not paid any attention during the 3 previous presidential elections, then.
Now that we are into the next puzzle I can tell you that Dory from Finding Nemo is a blue tang.
Ah—I guessed on that one. My daughter was reading the clues aloud to me and mispronounced the “bass” in drum and bass, so I got clued in on the category that way. Found two others quickly, but had to roll the dice on “tang.” I had a feeling I heard of it somewhere, but couldn’t figure out where.
Meanwhile, I had no chance on figuring out Blue, but even the rest of them were not obvious, until I got them and then they were blindingly so.
