I saw blue immediately but was sure it was a red herring. I finally tried it when I had nothing else. I saw purple only when they were the only ones left.

Rainbow order. I couldn’t figure out Purple’s category, and once it was revealed I say Queen Size Bed, so it wasn’t going to happen.

Pretty easy today. I saw green right away, but figured it was the red herring.

Clearly fell for the red herring. Also did not get purple .
TBH, Americans suck at geography. I thought Luxembourg was only a country and didn’t realize it was also the name of the capital and when I see Sarajevo I think of Yugoslavia which isn’t a country anymore so I didn’t realize that it was still a capital. In case you didn’t see it, the red herring was STAR____
What was the fourth? I couldn’t figure out what they wanted me to click so abandoned it.
I put hunter. It made as much sense to me as
Bottle green

Thought blue and green should have been switched in order of difficulty. I had never heard of BOTTLE green as a specific named shade of the color, but after staring at the board I guessed it must have been the fourth as nothing else made sense.Purple was fair but I wouldn’t have seen it without eliminating all the other categories.

Took until I unraveled blue to see what the actual purple link was, but those first three could have gone in any order really. I definitely knew all the kinds of -Green. Maybe you need to be in a wine-drinking area for the BOTTLE one
And for that red herring, what was the fourth? I see 3 : ANISE, TREK and WARS
I think you can still call it a red herring if it’s only three. Those three were not accidentally there — they were there to throw you off the trail. But they did not make a complete set so easy to discard.

Tough one for me today. LUXE seemed more likely to be a shade of green than BOTTLE. Ah well.
Never did figure out purple.
Sunday’s puzzle. I think I got lost in vernacular I am unfamiliar with.

Reverse rainbow pretty straightforward puzzle. I relish the non-Americans complaining in the connections comments at The NY Times. It’s always the Brits and Aussies, never the people from other countries.
