If You Like "Wordle", Try "Connections"

Anyone else get the sneaky change to one group this Wednesday? At some point, one of the words in one category lost letters at the end, making you think you’ve gone mad.

I only noticed because I’d screenshoted before I started. It changed back once I completed the puzzle.

Thought I was going crazy but then I saw that category name and that’s what they did.

Very straightforward. Even managed to figure out purple before submitting.

Couldn’t figure out the color order today.

Didn’t notice it and I’m not seeing it when I replay the game. Can you post a spoiler describing what you saw?

Weird thing I saw:

Screenshoted the whole thing, solved it using the screenshot, went back to try to reverse rainbow.

Then solved two groups and noticed NEEDLE had changed to NEED. Tried using NEED in that group even though it now didn’t fit. It worked and then changed back to NEEDLE a second after I solved it. As in, the two letters appeared as I was watching

.

Completely on the wrong track for purple for my initial guess, but somehow managed three out of four. Good thing I bailed on it until later. I was thinking SAFETY _______. So safety pin, safety strap, safety spec, safety squad.)

I’ve tried several times and I’m not seeing it. Maybe it was a glitch that only affected you.

Completely overthought today’s puzzle and ended up busting my 100+ streak. Saw blue immediately, but figured it might be a red herring. Then saw green but had it including

jab

, then thought I saw a category that wasn’t actually there including

hook - clothing fasteners - hook, strap, button, plus brooch or needle.

At that point I was completely convinced blue was a red herring, so then kept getting one-aways because I was positive the blues that potentially fit with other categories were definitely not the ones to leave out.

Instantly saw the tennis players but couldn’t find a fourth. Also saw the ears but couldn’t find the fourth. Did finally figure out blue and got the last purple by default.

No notes, very easy today.

Easy peasy, I think. Though I am not too clued up on one of the Purples.

Purple was easy to spot right away but I got the wrong fourth: I saw Mary PIERCE and had never heard of SINNER which, looking it up, betrays about what time I stopped paying attention to tennis. Number one, really?

Another one where I thought yellow and green should be flipped in difficulty.

Exactly the same for me. And I had to look it up too.

And if anyone wonders, for the “purples first” stat, it’s not getting purple first as a completed category, but getting purple on the first attempt. I figured it likely was the latter, but never checked until now.

I don’t feel so bad now because I made the same mistake on purple so I can assume it was a technically valid answer.

For the first time ever, I actually attempted a reverse rainbow, but yeah, flipped yellow and green.

Having used PIERCE already, I figured the tennis players were a red herring. Never would have placed that fourth one.

Fortunately, the first three categories fell into place relatively easily, so the point became moot.
