Second day in a row I got purple first without trying—it was just the easiest one.
I have to admit I never figured out blue today. I got hung up on PLYMOUTH the car brand, and the other three were not much help. I mean, “THE”? Come on. It could literally be anything.
Yeah I was certain today’s blue was purple.
Proving yet again that everybody thinks a bit differently, Blue was my first category today.
I live in the South West of England, where we have both Dartmouth and Plymouth as place names, which threw me somewhat!
Blue was my first too, I just thought I for sure had purple given the type of category it was.
This is Wednesday’s puzzle, and the errors I made were thinking faster than I was moving. I should not have made them.

This could have gone in any order really, I saw what the groups and their members were immediately and they all seemed of the same level of difficulty. Was there some sort of red herring? Couldn’t see one.
I be saying this. And yet again. In retrospect, the one that needed a more complex definition was clearly purple.

The error I made was
I had no idea what claves were and I had two categories in which they could be the fourth since I missed dominos as being black and white and spent too much time avoiding being sucked into stripes and dots.
Another really easy one.

Agree that these could have been any order, though I did suss out the one I thought was most difficult as purple.
Agreed. Done in less than 30 seconds, two days in a row.
I am worried that they’ve dumbed the game down, it seems like we’ve had a long streak of easy puzzles.
I’m not really feeling them easier than baseline. But we all perceive difficulty differently. Today’s took me a couple minutes to suss out, but I was purple hunting and they didn’t have any obvious purple words (in my opinion) to start. I find a lot of times puzzles people find difficult I finish in under a minute and ones they find easy to be medium-to-medium hard.
It’s funny, sometimes a puzzle is rated as hard and I breeze through it and sometimes I struggle with puzzles that are rated as easy. Often, it’s a matter of pop culture references closer to my age cohort being baffling to young people and vice versa.
Anybody play the new game “Pips”? Thoughts? I only played through easy mode and it didn’t seem interesting enough for me.
I played all 3, it was … fun enough. Certainly better than fucking Tiles.
Yeah, I’ve never ventured a full game out of that one, but I think my 9-year-old enjoyed it.
I never heard of claves as an English word. I also don’t think of the yin-yang symbol as black and white…just look at the flag of South Korea as a counterexample.
