Yeah, that’s the word that made me settle it into purple. I know claves from music. Pretty common wood block type sound used all over Latin music and pop. Can also be used to refer for a specific rhythmic pattern in the singular, or to multiple patterns in the plural. But it is a bit of niche vocabulary, now that I think about it.
I haven’t heard of Pips, I’ll check it out. I found Tiles very relaxing during the pandemic, but haven’t been back since.
I prefer to think that we’re all getting smarter.
Also, technically it seems the symbol in the middle of the Korean flag is the taegeuk, a derivation of the Chinese taijiti (known popularly as “yin-tang”) The Korean symbol is red and blue instead of black and white and divided horizontally instead of vertically. The yin-yang also has those two smaller circles of opposite colors in them, which the taegeuk lacks.
I don’t think my wife would agree.

Yup, could have been any order. I only got green last because I wasn’t 100% sure on one of the terms.

There should be an “initially” after that.
I just played it. The easy mode was, well easy, but I found the hard mode challenging. It took me a minute to get my head around the rules.
Oddly, my solve times went in reverse order: Easy: 2:22, Medium: 1:29, Hard:1:05. Granted, I was showing the game to my daughter, so I was trying to remember how to play it when I started with “easy,” but I don’t have any excuse for medium vs hard.
I think some of it is because there is a learning curve with the first games. I had to keep stopping to read the rules with the easy and medium games.
Well, in my opinion Thursday’s was a bit more challenging, hopefully it will be for you too.

It’s spelled Cheez, damnit.
As to the Pips - that was harder today, and kind of fun.

Bit of a rough one for me. I smacked myself in the head when I realized blue. I also smacked myself in the head for not getting purple early, as YANKEE Doodle was one of the first phrases I thought of, and it just didn’t click with me. I should have had it at DIPSY, but I was focused on the Teletubby Dipsy and couldn’t think of another meaning for it, not realizing that it fits the saying.

Never heard of three of the four stupid category terms.
It’s Friday at last. Red herrings galore. Felt very pleased with myself once I figured out what was going on.

Being originally from Illinois, I consider everything north of the state border “CHEESE LAND,” somehow overlooking NEVER NEVER.
That gaffe (or flub, if you prefer) was quickly rectified, and though I completed the rest of the puzzle without error, I did find it to be a challenging brain workout today.
