I don’t tend to try for a reverse rainbow unless I happen to get purple first. But when you start with FERRIS, and then throw PEE-WEE and INDIANA into the mix - I mean, come on. That didn’t feel like a purple.
And the rest of the RR flowed pretty quickly and easily after that.
Wednesday’s puzzle was also quite straightforward.

Superficially unusual and tricky but Apollo being the only God I could think of wjth same Greek and Roman name gpt me purple quickly.
Then I identified an Americanism and was done.
Shouldnt yinz have been scared of blues under the beds? Blues where you snooze?
My Thursday I found really easy, but I did hesitate at the Blue at first as it seemed too obvious.

Not so easy for me. Never got purple. Sort of got blue.
Knew they were all movies with THE but the only Rainmaker I know starred Katharine Hepburn and Burt Lancaster. Have not seen any of the others. Had no idea who was in them.

After getting purple first, I didn’t see anything except what was obviously yellow, so I gave up on the RR. No biggie. Getting those four boxes out of the way helped me get the rest.
Friday’s puzzle. I did not work out what Purple was, it’s not phrases I use. and one of them I did not know at all.
