Nothing jumped out at me today. I had to sit with this one for a few minutes and it slowly revealed itself. That was fun, actually. I even got purple!
Another clean sweep for Saturday, but I did struggle with Blue and Purple. I don’t make popcorn, so I didn’t quite see what they were getting at, and I’m not sure I have used any of the phrases in Purple. But I sort of got it right.

Friday’s purple completely stumped me. I was expecting one of the categories to be ___ ale, until some of the words got used up by other categories.

Straightforward.
Never in my life have I encountered 'fiddle away’ or ‘trifle away’ as expressions meaning 'squander’.
I got caught by a red herring Tender, Wing, Popper, Fritter but then got them pretty quickly.
So easy i couldn’t figure out the difficulty categories.

I almost caught that red herring, too, but while the existence of one is plausible, I’ve never seen a chicken fritter.

Same here.
I wasn’t necessarily thinking chicken specifically; they are all fried foods.
Sunday’s was a fail. I had no chance. Americanisms out the wazoo, and I have never heard of Aegis.

“Aegis” is from Greek.

Went looking for a red herring related to Greek gods. Also hampered by not knowing what aegis meant. Once I let that go it was pretty straightforward.

The very first thing I thought of when I saw FLEUR-DE-LIS was the New Orleans Saints, which gave away purple pretty easily.
The rest followed without too much trouble.
It’s Monday again. I fell for the red herring.
