She’s been known to publish ULs and myths before, and it really annoys me.
I have a lot of problems with the things Ann Landers publishes. I am not surprised at all that she publishes things that can be easily proven to be ULs. Someone should pass the snopes.com URL to her.
And yet, she sells stuff and people continue to listen to her. Maybe it is not the rocket scientists in the group, but it works. I am saying, what people will buy is good to sell.
Pepperlandgirl–the link you posted didn’t work (at least not for me).
She has a pattern, so I think it’s calculated.
She gets a simple question and makes a terrible answer.
“Dear Ann: My husband beats me and my kids hate him and won’t come over any more, but I haven’t practiced medicine in years and love this apartment. ~ Stupid”
“Dear Stupid: You have no option but counseling. If he won’t go, you go. Let me know in a few years if he still beats you. ~ Ann”
A thousand angry letters will arrive at every editor’s desk to forward to her.
The editor thinks she’s the hottest columnist he’s got.
She then gets off the hook with “Dear Readers, give me the lashing with a wet noodle. I wasn’t thinking straight with Stupid.”
Two weeks later, she does it again.
