If you thought _____ was a sequel to ____ you'd be in for a movie-viewing shock

Caveman was not a sequel to Clan of the Cave Bear.

Howards End and Howard the Duck were also apparently unrelated films

Next, you’re going to be telling me that Soylent Green isn’t a sequel to How Green Was My Valley, and that Monster, Monster’s Ball, and Monsters, Inc. aren’t parts of the same franchise.

Pull the other one. It’s got bells on.

It’s also quite a shock to those who are expecting a bloodsoaked slasher flick.

:::dedicated to an ex of mine:::

Oddly, Raising Arizona and Raising Cain are in no way affiliated.

And as far as I know, The Deep, Deep Six, and Deep Throat are not a trilogy. Really, they’re not.

A couple from theatre:

The Frogs and A Year With Frog and Toad.

Anyone can Whistle, Whistle Down the Wind, Wind in the Willows would be a great name for a musical.

Deep Cover was a disappointing follow-on to The Third Man. Neither, of course, would have been that enjoyable to anyone who’s seen “Pier Paolo Pasolini’s ‘The Third Test Match,’” and who, therefore, understood the above positional reference.

As far as I can tell, none of the movies in The Howling series have much of anything to do with each other.

That’s obviously because the Marketing dept. called the missing one Henry, Portrait of a Serial Killer

Okay, I seem to be catching the drift…

Black Beauty does not have a spinoff called Fatal Beauty.

And there is no trilogy comprising Jack, Jack the Bear, and Jumpin’ Jack Flash.

Right?

And I’m guessing it would be a mistake to augment my daughter’s collection of All Dogs Go To Heaven, All Dogs Go To Heaven 2, and An All Dogs Christmas Carol by giving her Reservoir Dogs.

Well you *could * but my guess would be that in 20 years we may be seeing a based on actual events movie titled “Kayla, Another Portrait of a Serial Killer”

**To Kill A Mockingbird and Kill Bill are not related. And despite the characters of Atticus and Dennis Finch, Just Shoot Me is not a take off on To Kill a Mockingbird

And there is no connection between To Kill A Mockingbird and Tequilla Sunrise.

Neither Tequila Sunrise nor **Manhattan **are at all related to **Cocktail **.

Airplane! is not part of the Airport franchise.

First Blood, Second Best, The Third Man, The Fourth War, The Fifth Element, The Sixth Sense and The Seventh Seal are not related.

Neither Angelic Layer nor Angel Links are the TV versions of Angel Sanctuary.

Does all this add up to Harold and Kumar going to White Castle?
