If you are within 10 miles of a college there is a mobile app called “Yik Yak” you can sign up for that is an anonymous bulletin board style messaging app. I’m sure the fun will wear off after a while but listening to college kids moan and chatter about their classes, SO’s, roommates, finals panic, local eateries and nonsense in general etc. is kind of amusing and sometimes hilarious.
It does take you back to the days of yore.
OK I tried it. Pretty amusing, but not when 40% of the time it’s “I am waitlisted in a class. I won’t tell you what number, nor which class or major this is in. What are my chances of getting in, oh stranger who I gave very little information to?”
Otherwise talking about getting in fraternities/sororities (isn’t it the wrong time of year for that!?), or bitching about said social groups. Also some pretty interesting or touching posts.
