I collect t-shirts, and when I was at Nathan’s earlier this year, I really liked the shirts that the staff wore, and wanted one for myself–especially since it’s such a landmark.
I asked one of the staff if they were for sale, and she said “Yes, just ask the manager.”
I did, and he told me “No.”
He wasn’t very talkative, so I didn’t know whether they were just out, or they didn’t ever have any for sale to the public.
