Iggy Pop has Post Pop Depression

Iggy Pop teamed up with Josh Homme to put together a new album Post Pop Depression. Looks like this was a big hush hush project and I didn’t know about it until this morning when I saw it posted on Pop’s Facebook page.

I think it’s decent though I admit I don’t like it as much as some of his earlier work. He’s been exploring different types of music which I find interesting. I hope I’m reading a little too much into this but I’m a little concerned that he wants to get one more album out, like his friend and past collaborator David Bowie. I have no evidence that this is the case though.

Wow; that was terrible. The crisp production didn’t compliment the song at all, Iggy’s performance was lackluster and mercifully buried deep in the mix and the song itself is forgettable. Was this something that was deemed to terrible for Blah-Blah-Blah and he held on to it for 30 years, hoping it would age well?

IMO, of course; YMMV.
