OK, sorry if this is stupid. Is the Serenity movie going to be a film version of the Pilot of Firefly (episode named Serenity)? Or is it going to fit in with the rest of the episodes and story. If it is about the beginning, how are they gonna introduce the crew(errr. I mean passengers)? Replay the events that get them together in the first episode? Contradict it? I guess what I’m asking is is it going to be a remake or is it going to new material?
May I ask another ignorant question in this thread? for those of us following Firefly in its run on SciFi because we missed the original airings, how bad off are we going to be if we see firefly on its opening weekend? We just saw “Out of Gas” this past friday, not sure how far along we’ll be when it’s released.
There’s only one episode after “heart of gold”. I’m not sure about american tv schedules or when the movie is going to be in the theaters in the US, but I assume you’ve got time to catch the last episode before the film
I also noticed in my TiVo “to record” list that Sci-Fi is playing a bunch of extra episodes of Firefly at different times. I assume these are the additional episodes so people watching on Sci-Fi can get caught up by the date of the movie, but since I’ve got my own copy of the DVD and have seen them all a hundred time already, I didn’t care enough investigate. Check the Sci-Fi website for more details and program times.
Or just by the DVD – you’ll be happy you did. (Excellent commentaries, widescreen presentation, and a clip of Adam Baldwin singing The Ballad of Jane Cobb!)
