broomstick - Can you honestly say that your boss is forbidding you to fly? You know that no one can forbid you to do anything, really. When I tell my kids as they leave on a Friday night “Be Careful, and no doing drugs or having sex”, do you think they start complaining to their friends that they now cannot do drugs and have sex because I forbid them to do it? No, they roll their eyes, say “sure, Mom” and proceed to do whatever the hell they want to do. Your boss may be afraid of flying, he seems to feel that he has to look out for you. Why? Beats me. But he was simply expressing his concern for your safety. I find no reason to get so upset. Take it as a compliment that your employer seems to genuinely care about your safety, so much so that he transfers his fears to your situation. I do not think he meant anything other than “Please be very careful, I wish you would not fly because I am scared of flying, it makes me nervous and I would not want anything to happen to you or any of my employees”.
