Are you a “bad” person for going to Narnia?
Probably not.
But you are probably worse of a person now for even wondering.
I’m 19, and I never intend to grow up. There are worse ways to be a bad person.
Here’s another Lewis quotation:
Dangerdad and I are going to see it; we’re 32 and the kids are too young to go. My parents will most likely go with us. Who *doesn’t *want to see the Narnia movie?
We are going to see it today, I recently re-read the whole series and I’m also very excited to see it!
While there are plenty of “adult” books I enjoy, with the exception of Lonesome Dove , I haven’t gotten half as much pleasure from them as from the Harry Potter series. I have been re-reading those as well because I’m obsessed with Snape.
I manage a hospital, and one of my recently hired staff came in on me at lunch in the office and saw me reading HP. He’s about 10 years younger than me and all he could say was “how cute!”.
:smack: …sorry thats a veterinary hospital not a hospital hospital…
Young whippersnapper.
I’m 56. I went to see it last weekend. Good movie.
Hell, I’m in my 50s with no minor children, and I’d love to see it. Just because a movie is marketed or designed for kids, that’s no reason for adults to avoid it. I love animated films, even a good kid’s film.
There are some kid’s movies I don’t see because I don’t think I will enjoy them, but I wouldn’t ever skip a movie I was interested in simply because it looks like a kid’s movie. I’ve never known anyone who thought there was anything weird about that.
I always wonder about this sort of OP. Would the poster really want to know the full possible range of opinions?

Yes, yes you are.
Man, the googler ads on this thread are disturbing.
“Pampers Feel and Learn”? Ewww.
Seriously, I see nothing wrong with seeing the film by youirself as an adult. I bought the book to reread it, in preparation for seeing the film.
Well, it depends.
Are you going to Narnia to
a.) plunge the country into decades of enchanted winter and rule with an iron fist?
b.) attempt to exterminate the native inhabitants (talking animals, dwarves, fauns, etc.), pretend they never existed, and rule with an iron fist?
c.) kill the queen and seduce the prince as part of an elaborate plan of conquest, so you can make him rule with an iron fist for you?
If so, you might be a bad person.
I hate to say it but I thought the same thing.
I mean, “Lord of the Rings” were kid’s books, too. Pixar films are generally kid oriented but draw millions of adults. Who cares anymore?
