I’ve been listening to the music on my Droid in order by title, just for fun, and the Brandenburg Concertos were followed by this song covered by Jim Morrison. Ever laugh at two songs placed back-to-back by your shuffle? I’ve also gone from Handel to Captain Beefheart which was kind of weird - but not as much as you’d think.

A few weeks ago I went straight from The Minutemen’s version of “Dr. Wu” to the original by Steely Dan.
Heh. I had the reverse happen quite a while ago (Dan version to Minutemen).

Used to listen to the Ipod on shuffle quite a lot which led to all kinds of fun sequentials. Don’t remember any particularly “funny” ones besides that, but getting back-to-back tracks off the same album or alternate takes of the same song by the same artist was definitely a notable demonstration of coincidence.
(Or maybe the Universe really needed me to carefully ponder the different recording and performance techniques involved between Elvis Costello’s album-version of “I Don’t Want to Go to Chelsea” and the alternate recording!)
