I'm a (British) Biscuit addict

Hmmm… rich tea biscuits… I can’t believe however, tha none of you have mentioned custard creams! They are fantastic with a nice, well made cup of tea ::drools::

custard creams?! pfff.

they’re just for people who aren’t brave enough to eat bourbons. :stuck_out_tongue:

Oh Ginger nuts! Now there is something worth dunking!

Oh yeah?? My custards can cream your bourbons any day of the week. :stuck_out_tongue:

The mighty bourbon would kick the feeble ass of those pretend biscuits known as custard creams!!

Never! The bourbons are too much of a good thing - chocolate! Hence they are weak, and for the weak!

oh please - custard creams are the Prince Cgarles of biscuits.

that was Charles :smack:

What? Bland and tasteless?

To be fair, I much prefer chocolate digestives over custard creams, but for me its a moot point, as I can’t eat either, beign diabetic. So, I’ll just stick to rich tea biscuits then…

Yes, I know I was advocating custard creams, but it was advocation from dim and distant memory…

Bewley’s Original Carmelised Biscuit from Dublin. I love these. I only bought one pack back with me (I didn’t know how well they’d go through my checked luggage) and now the only place I found them for sale online wants $15 a pack for them. I think I paid less than €4 in Ireland. Anyone know a cheaper place to procure these delectable wafers?

They are delicious, they almost melt in your mouth.

can’t you get one of the IrishDopers to become your Biscuit-Pimp and buy/ship them to you?

Oh, the heavenly Rick Tea fingers… love those things, and Garius I used to buy mine fron Holborn Sainsbury’s too!

Whenever we end up going back to Australia, I shall be importing crates of:

Jaffa Cakes
Rich Tea
Bourbons (they crap all over Custard Creams)
Must admit I was soooooo disappointed when I finally had a Choc Digestive, since they were referenced in so many TV shows when I was growing up. Blah, grainy and bland and not sweet at all.

Out of interest, Jammy Dodgers are called ‘Jam Fancies’ in Australia - quite a different image, eh?

D’oh, that should be ‘Rich Tea’ of course, ‘Rick Tea’ sounds like a soap star…

Jaffa Cakes are, of course, Cakes and will not be mentioned in this thread again!

But a third mention for the mighty bourbon…

Since reading this thread yesterday I now having cravings for all things Britishy Biscuity. Wandered round the supermarkets here in Bergen last night and couldn’t find anythingy vaguely Britishy Biscuity and now I really really want a Penguin.

Maybe one of us could P-p-p-pick up a Penguuin for you and mail it over.

They had Oreos in the Sainsburys the other day. Oreos. I thought things like that were only ever found in the States??

I’m going to throw a wild card in here and state for the record that Malted Milks win hands down in the best biscuit stakes… creamy but firm, and not too crumbly, mmmmm!

And if you’re really going to scrape the bottom of the (biscuit) barrel (sorry, couldn’t resist it!), then Party Rings are the ones to avoid at all costs… if you need a reminder then they are the ones with garish pink, purple and yellow icing on the top with a hole in the middle. Stay away from them… they are evil, and they make kids utterly hyperactive as I have discovered to my own cost.

Typically bloody yanks. trying to muscle in on our biscuits…

Ahhh party rings - the biscuit designed to give over-excited children bad headaches.

Party rings were interesting. My brother used to love them… I thought they were pretty but far too sugary for my taste!

But yes, I had to do a double take in Sainsburys because of the darned Oreos!
