I thought this online IQ test was kinda cute. Not only does it supposedly test your IQ (these online tests have given me scores all over the map), but it supposedly tells you your “intellectual type,” whatever that is.
As you’ve already gathered, my intellectual type is “visionary philosopher.” (Yup, that’s me alright. That and a couple bucks will get me a cup of latte. :)) And it tells me my IQ is 142, which is as good a guess as any.
The first thing we can tell you about that is you have the natural fluency of a writer and the visual and spatial strengths of an artist. Those skills contribute to your creative and expressive mind.
I’m a “visual mathematician.” I hope that means I figure out math questions by visualizing the elements of the question, because I have a difficult time with 2+2=4 unless I put pictures of little apples in my head.
Hey, it’s great to see some Insightful Linguists (hi, Smoothie! :)) - but where are the cunning ones?
And why do I think “Visionary Philosopher” is a nice way of saying, “Person who’s worthless when it comes to translating their ideas into action” ?
126 – which is four points down from forty years ago. So I don’t know whether to be grateful that I have not gone too far down or miffed that it has gone done at all. (Pouting just a little…)
I am an Inventive Inquisitor. The first thing we can tell you about that is you’re equally good at mathematical and verbal skills and have a thirst for learning through experience. But that’s just scratching the surface.
I took another test recently that indicated that I am equally balanced between right brain and left brain. So that sounds pretty accurate. About the only way I learn is through experience.
Given all of that, I would say that this test is a reasonably good one.
