Well, I’m just minutes away from sending my application to UC Berkely, Irvine, Riverside, Santa Cruz, Santa Barbara, San Diego, and Davis.
I’m soooo scared!
What if none of them accept me?!
What if I’m not smart enough!?
OH GOD!!!
takes a few deep breaths
Well anyway, wish me luck.
My dear, I’ve told you a thousand times before. You have nothing to worry about.
Plus, you put me as a reference, that’ll be sure to get you in.
But seriously - don’t worry about it. More likely, your biggest worry will be ALL of them accept you, and then you have to choose. So buck up, little one. I know you’ll do great!
Second off, colleges don’t care if you’re smart. I’m a major dolt, and Berkeley accepted me.
Third, don’t worry about it. You’ve got, what, seven choices there? I took a major leap and applied to only UCB. And if I could get in to UCB, you should have no problems getting in to any (or all) of the seven.
And, if all else fails, you can always apply to CSU Monterey Bay…when they first opened, a few years ago, they were practically begging people to come
Thanx everybody for your kind words. I really appreciate it.
I want to go to Irvine, Riverside, or Santa Barbara, and hey, who DOESN’T want to go to Berkeley?
But just in case they don’t want me, I’ve applied to Cal Poly, University of Redlands, and University of La Verne.
And if they all accept me? Well, I doubt Berkeley will take me, so I’m not worried about that. Davis is too close to home (Can’t handle my mother anymore). So it’s basically between Irvine and Santa Barbara.
Again, thank you everybody, especially NothingMan, I think that’s the nicest thing anybody ever said to me.
Right on, Mauve. I got into UCSD!!! Whoppee…didn’t even make the requirments then. Hey, in 1998, there were 26,000 applications for UCSD & they only let in 3,000!
Pepperland, a couple of my relatives applied to a similar list as yours but didn’t get in any of them. nuts. Not only that, but they had grade point averages of 4.3 from HS. I wonder what on earth they are looking for these days? Must be the paper you write to get in that’s important?
My friend Dave went to UCSD & works there too for a long time. As an employee, his kids get a 20% discount. He was sure they would get in to ucsd in '99 too, because of his association with them, but even that wasn’t enough to get them in.
Well if none of them accept you, you’re always welcome at the University of Goat. You don’t even have to take classes to get your diploma. We are a prestigious non-accredited University offering any diploma you want. Just send $100 to:

Seriously though, GOOD LUCK!!!
p.s. The above was paraphrased from a real spam email I got once. “Prestigious non-accredited”. Is that an oxymoron?
What are you worried about? Except for Berkeley, all those other public Cal colleges accept anybody with a pulse, right? I don’t think they turn away many.
Pepper, as a fellow soon-to-be college goer (accepted at Geneva, woo hoo!!!), I wish you the most of luck.
Like the others said, if you apply for state colleges/universities, they’ll usually accept you, even if you’re an idiot (and by reading your posts, I’m sure you’re far from an idiot). Just be careful if all of them accept you! I’m thankful I just applied to one, because I’m the most indecisive person around and would probably have a mental breakdown trying to decide which one to go to!
We’ll be waiting to hear if you’re successful or not :^)
