Congratulations!! By the way, what kind of company is it? What kind of employees do you need? I could use a job and I’d call you whatever the hell you wanted…
Well, we have made it through the first couple of weeks. First week was okay, a little stressful. Last week we hired four people, had to let one go by the end of the week (they were told up front this would happen). It was still pretty stressful. My first employee, the office/operations manager had to do the firing, I could tell she was a bit stressed (and probably afraid of the person she had to fire), but we got through it together. It’s a bit more involved than that but I’m writing this at work late on a Sunday night (alone here) and that’s about all I have the time to get into for now. We also got one of our cars in, the other is being wrapped and should be in this week. We have our first paying customer on Monday, which is somewhat of a relief, and we have some follow up prospects that I hope to convert to regular customers. It’s both exciting and draining.
Bear_Nenno, if you’re at FloriDope we can discuss some things, but it’s not the sort of job worth relocating for, so unless you’re already here… anyway, I don’t want to get into it directly on the boards, if you’re very curious drop me an email and I’ll give you a brief update.
Bear lives Tampa, the last I saw him. Of course, that was before the military — he may have come back to live over here on the correct side of the Bay. As you can see, I live in fabulous Largo, and I want to say congratulations to you on your success. I would never have the guts to form a startup, so I always admire those who do.
Is it okay if I send you an email (I wasn’t sure because of the email name in your profile).
The e-mail name in my profile is my IRL name. If I hadn’t told you that, you’d’a been really shocked at FloriDope, no?
Well, it surely wasn’t what I was expecting. I’m certain that there’s an interesting story out there, somewhere.
You BASTARD! I thought you were a nice person, now you have to go and become and EMPLOYER. You act all innocent now, but I’m sure you’ll be oppressing the masses soon enough. Probably right after lunch if I know you bastard employers.
Actually, Evil Captor might not be a bad thing to call the boss.
So, this morning we had another person quit, we also sort of expected (sooner or later, not this morning). Believe it or not all of this is in the start up manual.
