Don’t feel too bad. I picked up my wifes sword set from her the other day because she is no longer allowed to have sharp objects in her barracks. I got on the bus to go back. When I got back I got off the bus, and was walking to my building when I realized I forgot the swords. Went back, but the bus was gone, and the station closed. Checked the next two days and nobody had turned em in. The set cost about 150. Will have to replace it when she can have them again.
On leaving people behind. When my wife was at AIT (Advanced Individual Training done after basic for you non-military folk), and she was the duty driver. She went to pick up a few other soldiers at a building. She got all the way back, and was dropping them off, and she realized she left the drill sgt there. Not someone you want to forget while at training.
At least they were blank DVDs. It would really suck to lose 50 DVDs with stuff on them!
When you go to buy a new 50 pack of DVD-R’s, look for the ones that say “Made in Japan” on the label. Although they are in the miority, they are often mixed in on the shelf with the “Made in Taiwan” labels (even within the same item with the same barcode). A rare thing that most people don’t know is that Japanese DVD-R manufacturers usually have higher standards of quality control than Taiwanese manufacturers. As a result, Japanese DVD-R’s usually suffers fewer bad burns/writes than Taiwanese DVD-R’s.
I went through a phase for awhile where I would frequently walk up to a counter with a handful of items, pay for them, and then start to walk away without them. It really started to worry me that I had some sort of rare, youthful alzheimer’s for awhile, but thankfully I haven’t done it in a few years. It was quite embarassing.
