I'm ashamed of you people

Now THAT was funny.

Perhaps you missed the point: Ogre is voting in the Republican primary to support the relatively moderate candidate who is opposed by Roy “My God weighs 5,200 pounds and is carved in granite” Moore.

Second, look up Sherwood Boehlert (R-NY). He is the only Congressman who qualifies under the Endangered Species Act – AFAIK, the sole surviving liberal Republican.

Ogre said :

So, no. I read things correctly.

He’s voring Repub in state elections. The only place he’s going deliberately moderate is in the primaries.

Keep in mind, of course, that he’s made up his mind six months in advance. Yeah, the Neocon pendulum is really on the backswing now… (not gonna rolleyes)

My point is that this should not even be in the god damn news. Bush gets to the hotel or calls or whathaveyou. “Do you have that big awesome suite available?”

“No”

“OK, what have you got”

End of story. Mick Jagger should never have been asked to give up the room. It never should have gotten past the reception desk. And now it’s ROCK STAR VS PRESIDENT…and if you don’t think Mick Jagger loves turning down George Bush, you’re crazy…no I don’t have a cite for that…but you know it’s true.

He’s retiring after this term anyway. There are, to be fair, quite a few remaining Republicans in the Northeast who qualify as moderate, even on the liberal side, and sane to boot. The faction in control of the GOP has been energetically trying to marginalize and eliminate the RINO’s, of course.

Hmm… now that you mention it, how did the White House Staffers know that Mick Jagger was the one that had the room? Are there no privacy laws there?

Clotha, you’re being a twit.

It didn’t get in the god damn news. It got in The Sun.

Daniel

Right. This means that someone at the whitehouse said “WELL WHO’S IN THAT ROOM. WE WANT IT! WAH WAH WAH”

Really, I should ammend my statment. Mick Jagger probably just said, No thanks and that’s the end of it…and the whitehouse publicists made it a huge f-ing deal.

My guess is that somebody happened to hear Jagger telling whoever asked him to give up his room to jag off, and tipped off the gossip columnist at the Sun.

I doubt the WH even made a deal out of it. The hotel probably has a red phone connected straight to the Sun, where hotel staffers can make 100 euros for dirt like this.

But what I’m wondering is how they (the White House Staff) even knew who to ask. If I was running a hotel, there’s no way you’d get the name of the reservation out of me. I might, if I was feeling very magnanamous, call the reserver and ask him myself, but in this case, I wouldn’t have the…what do you call it…oh, yeah, BALLS to ask Mick Jagger to give up his reservation. I would certainly NEVER tell a person “Oh, yeah, Mr. Clothahump of 123 Hysteric Lane, phone number IMA-TWIT won’t give up his reservation for you.” And I can’t imagine what well respected, secure to dignitaries hotel would.

Something’s screwy here. Maybe the White House has Mad Hakkorz on staff and they went all Veronica Mars on the hotel’s computers. [/tin foil hat]

War of the Mutant Zombies

Emphasis mine.

: snort : : snicker : BWHAHA! HAAA! HAA HAA HAA!

Whitey*, please.
*I toned it down on preview. Nothing against White people, but his ilk, the poor put upon burdened White man drowning in a sea of Negros and Mexicans, gets my back up.

Of course everything in the quote box is italicized. :smack:

Eh, you’ll figure it out.

What, your post? Jackass, plain and simple.

I thought (and still think) that Clinton was a terrible President. I also thought (and still think) that he was due the respect of the office, even though he did his best to dishonor it.

That statement is incorrect. One might go so far as to say it is an outright lie.

As I have stated repeatedly, this isn’t about politics. It’s about respect. You just don’t diss a head of state like that, whether you like his politics or not. I don’t care if we elect a one-legged leper into White House; once we do, he’s the President and is entitled to the courtesy of the office.

Oh really? I seem to recall a lot of disrespect for President Clinton, most of it coming from the right. To this day, a conservative friend of mine says he still has no respect for him.

I’m sorry. To me, this incident is a tempest in a rather small teapot and an example of a man who’s used to getting his way being thwarted. Perhaps it should happen more often.

Sigh.

As I have said, this isn’t about politics.

Everything your dad said about Bush was incredibly accurate for Clinton’s Presidency, except for the fact that I didn’t vote for him. However, as bad as Clinton was, he was still entitled to the courtesy of the office.

I’ve had to repeat this too many time. You people are so blinded by your hatred of George Bush that it permeates everything you do or so, and you will never stop to consider the fact that most of it is baseless. If you want to be pissed off at him, then be pissed off over the things that he really has screwed the pooch on, such as border control, lack of tax reform, etc. I don’t know of anybody, other than the wetbacks, that thinks his immigration ideas have merit.

But can you explain why the “courtesey of the office” includes bumping properly made and paid for reservations?

I agree that Bush shouldn’t be spat at in public or cut off in traffic. I guess I’ll go so far as to agree that he shouldn’t be visited without an appointment, nor should one defecate on his desk. I just don’t see why mandatory cancellation of prior reservations is required in showing courtesy to his office or respect for his position.

So do you have to take the helmet off when you vote or do they let you go right up there with it on?

Your hypocrisy is a shining beacon for all the partisan hacks out there. Gulliver should be landing on your shores any time now, but he’ll probably move on over to the Houyhnhnms after dealing with your irrational bullshit.
