welcome back and congrats on a job well done. Does the Air Medal outweigh the LOC? I’m sure being home outweighs it all. Enjoy an adult beverage and a sand free meal!
First of all, welcome back. Glad to see you in one piece.
So it’s a bad thing? Sucks. But an Air Medal is a good thing, right? How good?
An Air Medal is awarded upon the completion of 10 combat missions over hostile territory. It’s not too difficult to get, all that’s required is to go to an area where there is the potential to get shot at, and that’s a combat mission. I had many more than that.
That LOC will go away in 90 days, but the memories of how it was gotten won’t fade so quickly. Such is life.
