I'm BEGGING you, Will Ferrell...PLEASE.

I haven’t watched any of those, except for Ron Burgundy… and that only had 3 laughs in it. What’s so truly sad, is he’s FAR better in quirky roles and movies such as these:

Stranger Than Fiction

Winter Passing

Will Ferrel, if you can hear me, don’t waste you time on the other tripe!

While on a Radha Mitchell kick I caught him in Melinda & Melinda, where he was also good. (Though he would’ve been better had he played his character with a limp.)

Opinions being what they are, I gotta say I found both Talladega Nights and Anchorman quite hysterical.

Likewise. I rolled my eyes at yet another “sports” film from him but they’ve generally been good for getting some laughs from me. Except that dumb soccer movie. And I never saw Roxbury (and it sounds as if I haven’t missed much).

Even though I share others’ disdain for Heder, I still laughed at Ferrell in Blades of Glory.

Its easy to see why he makes these, not even counting DVD, PPV, overseas, etc.-

Blaze of Glory 128m US b.o., 61m budget
Talladega Nights 148m bo, 72m budget
Kickin & Screaming 52m bo, 45m budget
Anchorman 84m bo, 26m budget
Old School 74m bo, 24m budget

Yes Will, for the love of God, quit making millions of dollars for yourself and the studio! On the plus side, he’ll run out of sports eventually.

For the record, I loved Anchorman, liked Old School, and haven’t seen the others.

According to Forbes Ferrell is one of the most overpaid actors in Hollywood. His movies on average earn $8 for each dollar in his bloated salary. In contrast Judd Apatow’s last 3 movies with no-names cost only only $30 million each and grossed $549 million. Article here.
