I'm Betting That This Will Wind Up Being Obama's Blackberry

Wonder if they’ll call it Blackberry One?

Okay, so, technically its not a Blackberry, but it looks an awful lot like a Blackberry, and it is a smartphone, with encryption capabilities.

How interesting…and timely.

I think they should drop the “Portable Electronic” in the name and just shorten it to SMED. “Portable Electronic Device”? What is this, 1942?

I want one.

Not because I need it, just to say I have it.

Well… If there’s a market… (well… for one unit that will result in massive public recognition of the brand)

Ding! It looks like he’s going to be carrying two smartphones!

Interesting. I was wondering whether he’d be the first President to acknowledge that the way work gets done has changed. Couldn’t really imagine him actually giving up the Blackberry.

Check out the photograph of the inauguration that was linked in the comments on Tuckerfan’s link!

Good call (no pun intended), Tuckerfan.

It is an awesome photo.

If you zoom in on Bush (Jr.) - can you tell if he is holding up like a phone or something? He might just be clapping and there is something on the table next to him that is causing the slight illusion that he’s holding it. I can’t tell.

Also, I can’t find it, but below the photo it says that Yo-Yo Ma can be seen taking a picture with an iPhone  .
Sorry for the hijack.

He’s just clapping. There’s a glass carafe on the table between Bush and Cheney. The odd black shape which obscures the left edge of the carafe is his left thumb.

They’re already calling it the Barackberry.

I thought my Treo was a lumbering beastie. Part phone, part PDA, part improvised projectile weapon.

Funny you should mention the Treo.

I don’t know what the big deal is about this picture. They do this shit every week on CSI with security camera footage.

Awesome photo, thanks for the link

Except at the link they left out the rotate feature. I had to use an external picture viewer to look at the shot from behind.

Amateurs.

The people on the roof directly opposite the camera in the panoramic photo are kind of creepy. That aside, that’s a kick-ass photo.
