That apparently was whut my aunt weighed. I wasn’t there but I do remember someone mentioning that it was about 3 months before grandmom was well enough to leave the house. ‘Cept she wasn’t “grandmom” back then, lest you think strange things were goin’ on. 14 lbs… that’s a country baby!
Cravings, hmmmm… lots of times chips and dip, cheeses, a Dr. Pepper, a spoon of peanut butter, always cottage cheese with pico on top right before I go to bed. Do single malt scotches count as a craving? Cuz I get those too.
One more day of work and I’m off for the year. Yea.
Oh, and cravings. I am seriously craving a mocha right now. I’m not a coffee drinker. Never acquired the habit. But I luuuuurrrrves me some espresso+hot chocolate. Unfortunately, the closest I can get to it at work is regular coffee plus powdered hot chocolate mix. Not the same at all.
Someone else had a thread about Sears being less than forthcoming on pricing recently and how their tool quality has dropped. Then on TV they had a consumer report w/ basically the same story. What a bummer, they used to be reputable. Apparently no more.
Wow winter has arrived in SE Texas 47f/8c brrrrrr. Coffee, coffee and more coffee. Jailbait date was postponed due to work, tonight I believe, we shall see.
When I was pregnant I craved ice cream and beer, two things I normally don’t care for and chili cheese dogs with mustard and onions from 7/11. Had to have one every day.
FWIW I ate like a damn pig when I was pregnant, 6 meals a day, not 6 snacks a day, 6 meals a day. I only gained 6 pounds and my son weighted 7 1/2 pounds.
My anorexic friend who didn’t know she was pregnant until she was 5 months along (she was supposed to be infertile because of the anorexia and her bf was supposed to be sterile from having mumps as a teen) had been living on carrot sticks and lemon drops (the alcoholic kind) went into premature labor at 8 months and had a 9 or 10 pounder. She added dry cereal to her diet once she found out she was pregnant, and gave up the lemon drops. Perfectly healthy baby too.
Everyone was sure I’d have a huge baby and was sure hers would be tiny and have problems. So much for what people think will happen.
Last night I couldn’t find the 10’ pole, now I need to find the shovel, because apparently, someone hasn’t hit bottom yet.
When Jr was in vitro I remember cravin da booze at da bar.
(Maybe thats because as the father my boozin’ wouldn’t affect fetal development & since she wasn’t drinking, I was living with a designated driver!)
Envy me, I’m satisfying my craving for gyros right now.
Probably the oddest cravings I’ve ever had were immediately after my gastric bypass. I was on a liquid diet for 2 weeks, followed by soft foods for another two while my guts healed. While I was in the liquid phase, I had this almost obsessive craving for either bologna or tuna fish sammiches. I can think of all kinds of things to crave while eating through a straw that make more sense.
I killed off the tuna salad crave on day 1 of soft foods by making a batch, then running it through a blender. It looked disgusting, but tasted SOOOOOO good at the time.
Shame on you, EmilyG!! Pay attention to your teacher! Sit up straight! Stop fiddling with your hair!
I’ve got your nickname - follow this logic: EmilyG → EmG → MG → Midget. Not that I’m a car nut, but we had an MG Midget 20-some years ago. So there ya go - you’re Midget! Now quit reading the Dope and attend to your lessons!
Lunch break here. I finally remembered to burn the CDs I was supposed to do last week. One goes to the boss and one goes with **FCD **when he goes to Johnstown tomorrow.
I’ve almost finished the 10-page beast. It’s been a fun morning.

Fairy, I’m actually really tall. So Midget would be ironic. My hipster nickname?
I thought we were interested in you modeling them?
Hrm, cravings…I am a salt and carb-o-holic. At least half the time I am feeling hungry or pecky, I know I can just lick some salt off my hand it boom, no more craving! I usually don’t, though. Good thing my blood pressure’s low, huh?
Hey all! Got up, ran my household like a boss, without hardly checking the intertubes, and so my kids are off at school with healthful lunches and water bottles, my kitchen is cleaned, vacuumed, and mopped, laundry is spinning, and I just finished lunch. Good start. Later is rasslin with Xmas decorations a bit and holding a whip over the children to make them clean.
Honestly, we need to just get rid off a ton of stuff so we have places to put our remaining stuff away, but I can’t dip a toe in that today.
Cravings? This week I’ve been olive crazy. Lunch was leftover pasta puttanesca, and it exactly hit the spot.
