I'm doing the Walt Disney World Wine and Dine Half Marathon! Anyone with me?

So Ms. Cups, a friend of hers, and I are officially running the Wine and Dine half marathon this coming November!

Anyone else doing it?

If you buy me a half bottle of decent Chardonnay, I’ll watch from my table.
So, yes. Count me in.

Some friends are running. Did I hear correctly that it sold out in 45 minutes?

You’re correct in that.

I literally sat at my computer right at noon and signed in ASAP just for that situation

I ran (actually didn’t run due to injury but attended) a Disney marathon/half-marathon and it all seems really well run. I wasn’t thrilled getting up at dark o’clock to see my brother start but they do know how to put on an interesting race. But I’ve had enough Disney in my life for the past couple of years, much more interesting places to run races for me.

I realize it is months away, but please keep us updated. And sincere kudos.
I may be in the area around then, but not a participant, just a visitor on business.

Good for you! I just did the Princess Half Marathon for the 5th time in February. RunDisney puts on great, fun events which are selling out terrifyingly quickly. Are you thinking about doing costumes?

I actually remembered that I started this thread sometime near 1-ish this morning…

Wellp we are done and home from the WND half mara…er…10k.

For those that don’t know, there was some lightning that caused all 15,000 of us to be corralled into the Wide World of Sports complex for about 45 minutes or so, and because of that they killed the first 6 miles of the race.

Cons: I can’t say that I did a full half marathon yet; we were all jazzed to run and then lost our momentum; missed out on Animal Kingdom; the WWOS chairs did a number on my back before running

Pros: We did it! We probably ran around 3/4 of and walked the other quarter, including a long jaunt around mile 5, but that also included sightseeing the Osborn lights in Hollywood studios…but we did it!; got some great swag and a cooling towel; got to eat awesome food at Epcot and ride rides at, literally, 4AM; just a fun way to spend a weekend with Ms. Cups

I wouldn’t doubt that we are going to try again next year, and we will try and get into another Disney run before that.

Go us!

Congrats! I saw some posts on FB from people doing a run up there this weekend, but I’ve been busy planning my early December Disney trip, so I didn’t pay too much attention.
