Ok Northern Piper - thanks for all that info. Um - is that football as in football or football as in soccer?
Hey where has Odie gone? Why hasn’t he come back to tell us if we’re succeeding in keeping him entertained? And - has anyone recognized my song lyrics yet?
callie - I regret that I do not recognize your song. Anyone else yet?
It’s football as in Canadian football - similar to US football, but bigger field, bigger ball, three downs instead of four, no fair catch rule, and the rouge. Great fun!
Ding ding ding ding ding! We have another winner! Congratulations to lolagranola for correctly naming the song.
[sub]sorry Odie - now I’m just getting plain silly in your thread[/sub]
:: thinking of something else I could entertain Odie with ::
Thank you…I am feeling much better now :D…I would like to thank Lola for the Snoopy dance…and I am playing Linus and Lucy for you. Callie for all her efforts…I am sure you can come up with something else to entertain me…, and Northern Piper for mentioning the Green and White…, and everybody…including Moi for using the Ms Piggy voice…OK…if you are inspired you can still carry on
Keith
P.S. I would like to thank everybody on the boards on the occasion of my 1700th post
[curmudgeon]
Yeah, well, the only way that he got to 1700 was by filling his posts with all that “intelligence” and “niceness” stuff. Bastard, has no IDEA what posting is about…
grumble, grumble…

The rouge is a little quirk of the CFL. You see, the goal posts are actually on the goal line, unlike in the NFL, when they’re set back. On a field goal attempt, the defending team is allowed to have players in the end zone. If the kicking team misses the field goal, the ball is live. The defenders have to catch the ball and run it out. If the kicking team stops the defending team from running it out, the kicking team scores one point - the rouge. It’s not very common, but last year the Winnipeg Blue Bombers won one of their games by one point - on a rouge.
Do I play? are you crazy? get run over, tackled and generally maimed by 300 lb behemoths? A man could get killed
