I'm Finally a Senior!!!!!

I just got back from the Class of 2000 Graduation Ceremony. I was part of the Honor Guard…you know Girls in White Robes. Well, we helped with diplomas etc and than the Seniors switched their tassels, becoming Graduates, and I’m one year closer to leaving behing High School forever!
Congratulations Class of 2000!!!

Don’t be in such a rush girl. Enjoy it while it lasts!!! sniff

Congrats.

Honour guard? For some reason I have visions of Darth Vader stalking between two lines of young… oh… um… never mind…

Well to be honest, I’m excited, but I’m also terrified. I actually love high school, and part of me wants to stay there forever.

Yeah, it’s funny how the ambivalent feelings strike you in your final year of high school. Even those who have shown disdain for the schooling process and who couldn’t wait forr it to finish find themselves swept up by emotion.

But life isn’t necessarily better or worse in ‘the real world’ - just different. And that scares some people. Most actually.

I still have 28 years before I become a senior and can collect my pension
Congrats!!!

As of now, you guys rule the school!

Enjoy it while it lasts.

Oh, to be young again… :frowning:

Awwww pepperland, enjoy your school days. I can still remember the feeling on graduation night, standing there after it was over with wondering, what do I do now?

Ultress,

did you not just get out of the back seat of his car and get him to drive you home???
just kiddin’!!

John do you have to tell everything you know? That was the night before graduation.

Well, as for me, one more final and I’m done! I for one, am not going to miss high school. Well, maybe a little. But I’m certainly looking forward to the fall. I’ll be going to the same University as my boyfriend. Not the same classes, though. He’s in Mechanical Engineering. I’ll be taking the B.of Sc. nursing program.

I have the sked. I’ll be able to sleep in two mornings a week. Whoo hoo!

ye nearly can haer omni’s heart breaking…

Congrats pepper!
I’d forgotten you were in school; your posts are so mature and intelligent!

Thank you Vanilla

From someone who is turning the big 3-oh this year, please enjoy your youth while you still have it. You won’t believe how fast it goes by.

Like you, I was excited about leaving high school, but after a party I went to for our foreign exchange student (about a week before graduation), I called a friend and cried that I didn’t want to leave high school! It’s scary, but also so exciting to start your life.

I wish you the best and hope you make all of the right choices for yourself. And if you make the wrong choices, I hope you learn from them, as I have.

And don’t take any crap from any men, either. I learned that the hard way. Don’t waste a good portion of your 20s in a bad relationship.

[sarcasm] And don’t take any rat’s asses either. [/sarcasm]

Shirley U: Forgive me. I’m hypersensitive at times. Was that a slam?

I thought that you were a college student.

As a senior you had better spend some time this summer thinking up tricks to haze the freshmen with.

On behalf of the entire Class of 2000, congratulations! (The entire Class of 2000. . . can I DO that?) Enjoy your senior year - it seems like forever while you’re there, but you realize how short it really is when it’s over. Don’t slack off too much!

Let’s see. <whips out calculator, since he’s long forgotten how to do math> I graduated high school in 1981, 19 years ago. I will be eligible for senior citizens discounts at age 55 at some places, which will occur <calculates> in 2018, 18 years from now. So I am now closer to being a senior citizen than a senior in high school.

<smiles brightly, then makes a beeline for the tequilla>

LOL, MysterEcks.
2sense, I plan on doing everything to the Frosh that the Seniors did to me. At first I thought it might be a lil mean, even demeaning. But then I remembered it’s the circle of life, learning experiences…oh and it’s a lot of fun too
