Okay, folks, it’s pretty much official. Your ever-lovin’ Superdude has decided to get ink done. That’s right. I’ve decided to have the Superman logo permanently etched onto my skin. The question I have is this: Where should I put it?
On your back, right between your shoulder blades, just below where your collar hits.

I’ve been thinking about getting a tattoo for about 2 years now. Hubby doesn’t approve but isn’t stopping me. I think I’ll have my uncle (who is a pretty good artist) draw up a rabbit/bunny for me. I’m planning on getting it done (maybe!) for my birthday. I’d have it on my back, right above where my bikini ends, in the middle.
Not on your arm, but that’s just me.
On either shoulder would be sex-ay. 
Nah, get a matched set: one on each upper arm, just like the insignia on a military jacket.
Slap that sucker right across your chest, full-size, just like in the costume. You’ll be a big hit at pool parties.
Oh, and just under it, in teeny tiny little print, get
“Logo does not enable wearer to fly.”
Someone else (IRL) mentioned getting it on my chest. Only problem with that-hair. I have a small patch of chest hair, and I’m not gonna shave it for a tattoo.
Two inch colored insignia.
Between the superior anterior pelvic crest and your belly button, just an inch or two below that line.

If not the cape, a guy I was in the Marines with had one, about 3" or so, over his left breast. Frankly, it looked kinda silly on him. 'Course, he was a nut anyway, so YMMV.

I can’t believe that nobody has suggested that you get the tattoo on your forehead.
Seriously, placement depends on the size of the tattoo and if you think that you’ll get others in the future.
I’ll vote for the back, just below the collar line. Center. It seems to me that that particular design would look best on the centerline of the body, unless you went for a shoulder. That would also be okay, but it would make you unbalanced, and you might list a little to one side when you walked.
Incidentally, I had my chest shaved for some tattoo work, and it was unpleasant. When the hair grew back, it was all stiff and bristly for a couple of weeks. Felt like I had a wire brush inside my shirt. The superman logo would look great in the center of the chest, but aside from the hair issue, that needle bouncing across the sternum is not much fun.
Actually, no matter where you get it, you WILL be shaved. If not by you, then by the tattooist. You really wouldnt want those needles pushing the hair into the skin (and I think the hair fucks up the needles).
I recently got one and he shaved the area on my calf where it is. It’s not bad, but the razor irritation really sucks.
You should tattoo a picture of a butt on your butt.
I’ve been a full time tattooist for the last 12 years. My advice is about the shape of the tattoo you want. A round design looks good on the top of your shoulder. Something long and narrow might be good on your forearm. An S shaped design fits well on the back of the shoulder.
When do you want your tattoo to show? On your bicep is very good, it’s easy to show and easy to hide.

I have three tats & am considering a fourth. I don’t regret any of them. One was a forthehellofit tattoo. One commemorates my divorce. One is in memory of my father. The fourth one will be a secret.
Don’t forget, red ink fades to pink in time.
(I know a guy who got an oval filled in with red with a black Nike swoosh in it. In 6 months, he had a pink oval with a black Nike swoosh in it.)
