I'm going to Belgium

Woo hoo! From the 16th of July until the 2nd of Aug I am on an all expense paid trip to Belgium as part of the International Air Cadet Exchange (IACE). Its a program where the Civil Air Patrol (CAP) exchanges cadets with other countries. I got assigned to go to Belgium. We are going to stay on a military base there for the majority of the time, but we do get to stay with host families for a weekend. Beside that, we get tours of all the fun stuff there, and are encouraged to “extend international relations” (drink and party) with cadets from the UK, Canada, Austra, Australia, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, Norway, South Africa, and others that I cannot remember off the top of my head.

  • be careful of the Belgian beer, though - it has this annoying habit of surgically removing your knees while you’re sitting at the table.

Have fun!

Two words, kinoons: Westvleteren Abt. But for Gods sake, don’t have more than two! Alright, three, but only if you’re a real pro!

Where is this taking place? At SHAPE (Surpreme Headquarters of Allied Powers Europe, in Mons)? And where will you be staying during that weekend off? Make sure to visit Brussels, Brugge and Antwerp when you have the chance. Beautiful cities with a rich culture.

Did I mention Westveletern Abt already??

Chocolate.

I need say no more.
