I mean, really, who the fuck invented of these little buggers! Three times the price and 60% less power than a AA. Goddamn battery companies are making a killing, and those bastard electronics companies seem to be putting out more and more gadgets each year that use them.
I had to look long and hard for a cheapo MP3 player that didn’t use AAAs. The size difference is rarely worthwhile trade-off, considering you end up paying 7.5 times for each milliamp hour.
Screw them all, and their little cylinders of overpriced evil.
NiMH AAs are about the same price as AAs but have capacity proportinal to their mass. Note that you can’t use NiMHs in some devices designed for alkalines. Some will have too much current flow and some will be fooled by the discharge curve and give no warning before failing and losing data. I have a PDA that warns against using them for this reason. Aklalines have a more gradual dropoff so the power gauge is useful where it isn’t with NiMHs because they maintain higher voltage until just before they are empty.
But John the Baptist on a fucking rubber crutch. You can’t find anything better to pit than AAA batteries? Go buy them in bulk at Costco and get the fuck over it.
Nope, not really. AAA and AA batteries cost about the same these days(in my experience). Since AAA batteries have become more the norm than AA batteries in everything from remote controls to PDAs, we use a lot more than them today.
You’re whining about AAA? Go out and try to find AAAA. Yes, that’s 4 A’s in a row. What are they for? The stylus in my Compaq Tablet. The only way i can get them is to order them thru Kelly’s Stationery.
Those nasty little things cost even more than AAAs and AAs… they must charge per A! Must have gone everywhere in town before I finally thought of RadioShack.
Plus they laugh at me, late at night, when nobody else is around. And they steal my pencils.
I have the opposite problem. Guys with big feet are no big deal, unless the width is EEEE. It’s not impossible to find shoes I like that fit, but I usually have to go to the more upscale shoe stores.
My battery beef is all those stupid little pill shaped ones that are all subtly different in dimensions and power specs. I need a new one for my car remote gizmo but I can’t find the right kind. Fortunately I have another gizmo with a good battery.
